Mormon Trail Wagon Train Schedule for 1997

Several wangon trains have combined to form the Mormon Trail Wagon Train--150 Years . The schedule for the main wagon train is given below. Some of the wagons will follow the South Mormon Trail-Ox Bow Route from Council Bluffs to Kearney. The schedule for this route is given last. Participation by all interest parties is encouraged.

WHAT IS THE WAGON TRAIN?

The Mormon Trail Wagon Train is a collection of horse-drawn wagons of the pioneer era. Many will be authentic in design and construction. Some will be modified somewhat. There will be approximately 50 wagons. There will also be between 100 and 200 walkers. Some of the walkers will be pulling handcarts. The handcarts will be of authentic design. Out-riders will be with the wagon train, perhaps as many as 70-75.

WHAT ARE THE PURPOSES OF THE MORMON TRAIL WAGON TRAIN?

  1. To honor the spirit of pioneering and pay tribute to Pioneers who traveled the Mormon Trail 150 years ago.
